PENSION PAYMENTS MADE
PRESS RELEASE
PENSION PAYMENTS MADE
The St Christopher & Nevis Social Security Board wishes to advise pensioners that Pension Payments have been made with the relevant, retroactive amounts for Invalidity, Survivors and Age Pensioners. This is to say, that the January adjustment and the new pension increase is reflected in the February payment.
Direct deposits to banks have been made and funds are immediately accessible to pensioners. This also includes payments to Credit Unions and other financial institutions who receive pensions on behalf of our pensioners. Kindly note also that payments via post were dispatched.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure the public that we will revert to the usual pension payment schedule as detailed below.
In January 2020, the Minister of Social Security, the Hon. Vance Amory informed of pension increases as follows:
Persons who became pensionable in 2015 or before would receive a 5% increase, while persons becoming pensionable in 2016, 2017 2018 and 2019 will see increases of 4%, 3%, 2%, and 1% respectively.
We again humbly apologise for the inconvenience caused and crave your understanding as ‘we keep looking up for your benefits.’
