 Employers’ Guide

Whenever a person or entity employs another person, the employer is required to register with the Social Security Board and to make payments of contributions to the Social Security Fund on behalf of the employee. It is also the responsibility of the employer to make sure that the employee is registered.

Information for Self-Employed

A self-employed person means anyone who is gainfully occupied in the Federation but whose employment is not under a contract of service and is not subject to the direct control of another person or institution. Coverage is extended to nationals and nonnationals who meet this qualification.

Things You Should Know

Insured persons and others should find it a useful guide on matters pertaining to the benefits available from Social Security, as well as contributions necessary to support such benefits. Insight is also given into such topics as the management of the Fund and provisions for review or determination of questions by way of appeal.
